The Los Angeles Business Council honored The Charlie with a 2025 Housing award. The recognition came during its 55th Annual Architectural Awards.
The award celebrates projects that strengthen Los Angeles through design and civic impact. Consequently, The Charlie joins a select group shaping the city’s residential future.
A single-use car wash once occupied the Santa Monica Boulevard property. OFFICEUNTITLED transformed the site into a contemporary residential building with a strong street presence.
The jury praised the project’s contribution to housing along a dense commercial corridor. Moreover, its material expression gives the building a distinct identity.
Layered outdoor spaces also expand daily life beyond each residence. Ultimately, The Charlie demonstrates how thoughtful design can turn an underused site into valuable urban housing.
