Fast Company Impact Council

Following Village School’s Honorable Mention in Fast Company’s 2026 Innovation by Design Awards, OFFICEUNTITLED Co-Founder and Principal Shawn Gehle joined the Fast Company Impact Council in New York.

The recognition highlights the rapid transformation of a vacant Santa Monica office floor into an interim K–6 campus for nearly 300 students following the Palisades Fire. At the council, Shawn shared the story behind the project and how an emergency occupancy strategy, adaptive reuse, and close collaboration made it possible to welcome students back to the classroom in just three weeks.
